My Dinning Sentiment
Sentimentality is apart of personal perception. Sentimentality to me is what makes me feel warm inside, and a lot of that has to do with food.

Exploration of Ideas
Combining tatreez patterns onto a fabric and putting it in a frame.
Embroidering patches into the shapes of the patterns (I will create them based off of existing patterns) and each of them will represent an emotion and will be framed.
Not tatreez, but making rice pudding and creating tatreez patterns on top.
Historical Aspect:
“Tatreez is an ancient embroidery technique that dates back to the Canaanite era (people who lived in the Arab region, 3,000 years ago). It has been used for centuries by Palestinians - with different colours and patterns symbolising social & community status.”
Blueprint:
Continuing with option 3, I began with the idea of the layout of the dinning table and thinking about the different patterns of the tatreez and what food(s) to include.
Embroidering:
A traditional star pattern on the table cloth, but instead of the traditional red and black colors, I constructed it with fall colors.
